Cookie policy
Last updated 6 May 2026
HeatAdapt uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, measure how it's used, and improve our marketing. This page explains which cookies we set, why, and how to change your preferences at any time.
You can open the cookie preferences to update your choice at any time.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies let the site remember your preferences (such as your language or your consent choice), measure how the site is used, or show you advertising relevant to you.
We also use comparable technologies — local storage and tracking pixels — that we treat the same as cookies under this policy.
Cookie categories
We group cookies into three categories. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot function without them. Analytics and Marketing cookies are off by default — turn them on in the preferences modal if you're happy for us to use them.
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for HeatAdapt to function. They store your consent choice and your language preference. They cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
cc_cookie | HeatAdapt | Stores your cookie consent choice. | 6 months |
NEXT_LOCALE | HeatAdapt | Remembers the language you selected via the language switch in the navigation. | 1 year |
Analytics (off by default)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people visit and how they got there, so we can improve the site. Data is aggregated and stays under our control.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique visitors. | 2 years | |
_ga_<container> | Persists session state for the GA4 property. | 2 years |
Marketing (off by default)
We use the Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure how our advertising performs and to show relevant ads on Meta platforms and the Google network.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta | Distinguishes unique browsers for ads measurement. | 90 days |
_fbc | Meta | Stores the click ID from a Meta ad you clicked through. | 90 days |
_gcl_au | Conversion linking for Google Ads. | 90 days | |
_gcl_aw | Persists Google Ads click data. | 90 days |
Changing your preferences
You can change your cookie choice at any time. Open cookie preferences, toggle the categories you want, and click Save preferences.
How long is your consent stored?
Your consent choice is stored for 6 months. After that, you'll be asked again. You'll also be asked again if we add a new cookie category.
Browser-level controls
You can also block or delete cookies via your browser settings:
Blocking strictly-necessary cookies in your browser may break parts of the site.
